n-Matrix Variations Overview

Updated 2 months ago

Prerequisite: Using this feature requires selecting Enable Product n-Matrix in the Client Settings.

Product variations, such as size, color, and count, are assigned separate SKUs by the vendor.

However, you can post variations to one listing while retaining their separate SKUs - an action that is achieved through an n-Matrix.

n-Matrix refers to a relationship between products that share common characteristics with minor variations, such as different sizes of a pair of shoes, or baseball caps from different teams.

The manner in which this relationship is associated with the term 'matrix,' including the meaning of the 'n,' is available in this Wikipedia article.

In SellerCloud, here's an example of how the term 'matrix' refers to a product's various colors, teams, and sizes:

SellerCloud uses the term "n" matrix because it can have any number of dimensions.

While other systems only let you group items with two dimensions - size and color - an n-matrix lets you have any number of dimensions, such as size, color, team, player, year, etc.
