Overview
The 4D Scale integration with Shipbridge allows you to instantly access real-time or historical scale readings when shipping your orders and apply them as order measurements within the application. The dynamic transfer eliminates the need to manually input the order’s weight and dimensions and improves your shipping workflow’s accuracy and efficiency.
Configure Shipbridge
Once your 4D Scale is connected, you can integrate it with Shipbridge to seamlessly pull in scale readings. To do that:
- Navigate to Menu > Options > Scale.
- Locate the Activate checkbox and enable it. If you have previously chosen a scale, its serial number and the date of its last activity will appear below the checkbox.
- Click Select Scale to display a list of available devices. Online scales can be easily identified by green serial numbers, while offline scales will have grayed-out serial numbers.
- Select a Serial Number and click Connect to device.
- Empty your 4D Scale plate and click Calibrate to ensure the accuracy of your scale’s readings.
- To test whether the scale is calibrated correctly, click Get Readings.
- To set the scale’s current weight as the reference point and allow subsequent measurements to be taken relative to that reference, click Tare.
- To ensure readings are loaded automatically when using the Scan and Ship workflow, you must enable the Auto-update with measurements from 4D scale setting.
- Once done, click Apply / Save.
When you configure your scale with Shipbridge successfully, the integrated Scale ID will be visible in the Shipbridge grid.
Click on the Scale ID to access shortcuts to the following actions:
- Tare – Tares the preselected scale.
- Calibrate – Calibrates the preselected scale.
- Get Readings – Displays the current scale’s readings in Shipbridge.
- Go to account – Leads to your 4D Scale app account.

Historical Reading
You can also pull in 4D Scale’s historical readings associated with a particular order and save them in Shipbridge:
- Navigate to Shipbridge and search for the desired order.
- Right-click on the order and select Get Saved Readings From Scale.
- The order’s saved readings will appear in a popup window. Select the desired package dimensions from the list of available measurements and click Ok.
- The chosen readings will be instantly recorded in Shipbridge as the order’s weight and dimensions.
Scan and Ship
When using the Scan and Ship workflow to prepare your orders, you can pull in real-time and historical scale readings before you print the corresponding shipping label.
If you enable the Auto-update with measurements from 4D scale Shipbridge setting, the current scale readings will populate automatically in the Print & Ship tab. If the setting is disabled, you can still pull the measurements manually, as described in step 3 below.
To get the scale readings in Scan and Ship:
-
- Select an order from the grid and click the Scan and Ship button, or press F7 and search for the desired order.
- Scan the order items.
