Sell on International Marketplaces

Overview

Sellercloud offers the functionality to sell on marketplaces outside the United States, allowing you to expand your business globally.

This feature lets you easily list your products on popular international marketplaces and reach a wider customer base. You can sell on global marketplaces in local currency with product descriptions reconfigured in the local language, even if your default company is set in the U.S. region with U.S. currency.

Create a Company

To successfully sell on international marketplaces through Sellercloud, it is crucial to create a company with the correct country code and currency. This ensures that your products and orders are aligned with the correct currencies, descriptions, and fulfillment requirements for each marketplace.

Let’s say you will sell on a UK marketplace:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies.
  2. Click on the green plus button at the bottom of the page to create a new company.
  3. Populate the fields.
    1. Company name
    2. Selling Country CodeUK
    3. CurrencyGBP
    4. Contact Name
    5. Email
  4. Click Next.

Convert Currency

You can update the currency individually or in bulk when setting up a new international company in Sellercloud. This can be done on a company level or for separate products from the Catalog page.

Automatically

You can add manual conversion rates that will override the automated values you receive from the API.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies > Choose your Company.
  2. Toolbox > Currency Conversion ( Manual).
  3. Choose From Currency and To Currency.
  4. Click Save Rate.

Manually

You can configure currency conversion for products from the manage catalog page.

Client setting Enable convert currencies in bulk must be enabled for this workflow.

Navigate to:

  1. Catalog > Manage Catalog > Choose product/s.
  2. Click on the Action Menu.
  3. Convert Currencies.

International Marketplace Preferences

To have a unique price in the international currency, a shadow is required to serve as a separate product profile for each product. You can set up International Marketplace Preferences so that the Shadow Products are configured automatically upon creation for use with international marketplace sites.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies > Choose your Home Company.
  2. Toolbox > Int’l Marketplace Preferences.
  3. From here you can choose a Company for different regions, as well as check the Auto Convert Price and Translate Product checkboxes.
  4. Scroll down and click Save.
  5. Click Queue Shadow Creation/Updation.
    1. This action automatically creates or updates shadow SKUs of all products owned by the home company, specifically for the selected international (in our example, UK) company. The products will be priced in GBP currency according to the daily conversion rate (one-time conversion) and described in British English. Because they are shadow SKUs, they share inventory with the parent U.S. company, so there is no risk of overselling.
