Overview
Linking (connecting) an FBA inbound shipment to a purchase order is a convenient way to order quantity for FBA. Note that you can only link one FBA inbound shipment to one purchase order.
There are two ways to link an FBA inbound shipment to a PO:
- Link the FBA inbound shipment’s items to a new or existing PO – This feature lets you create or update a PO for items that the vendor will dropship to the Amazon fulfillment center.
- Copy an FBA inbound shipment’s items to a new or existing PO – This feature lets you create or update a PO for items that the vendor will ship directly to the seller’s warehouse. After you receive the items from the vendor, you will ship them to the Amazon fulfillment center.
Link an FBA Inbound Shipment to a PO
- Go to Inventory > FBA Inbound Shipments > Manage Shipments > select a shipment.
- On the FBA Inbound Shipment page, click Actions > Sync to PO.
- Four sync options will appear; continue below based on your choice:
Link an FBA Inbound Shipment to PO
Purpose: Create a new PO or update an existing one with an FBA inbound shipment’s items and quantity so that your vendor can ship directly to FBA.
The PO’s Ship To address will be updated to the FBA fulfillment center, so the vendor can ship your ordered items directly to Amazon. The FBA inbound shipment’s Ship From address will be updated to the vendor’s shipping address.
- In the Sync to PO box, choose Link to New PO to generate a new PO in Sellercloud or Link to Existing PO.
- Enter the PO Name > choose the Vendor > click Next.
- In the Items box, review/update the Qty for PO > click Finish.
- The FBA inbound shipment is now linked to a PO that you can send to the vendor.
Note: The PO’s inventory count will be disabled and will have an Inventory Disabled status.
Copy an FBA Inbound Shipment to PO
Purpose: Create a new PO or update an existing one with an FBA inbound shipment’s items and quantity so that you can ship it to FBA later.
After receiving the items from the vendor, you will ship the inventory to Amazon’s fulfillment center.
- In the Sync to PO box, select Copy to New PO or Copy to Existing PO option.
- Enter the PO Name > choose the Vendor > click Next.
- In the Items box, review/update the quantity for the PO > click Finish.
- The FBA inbound shipment is now connected to a purchase order that you can send to the vendor.
A convenient way to order quantity for FBA is to create a PO from the FBA Shipment after creating an FBA inbound shipment:
- On the FBA inbound shipment, click Action Menu > Generate/Sync PO > Go.
- Complete the fields and click Create Purchase Order.
Unlike creating an FBA shipment from a PO, creating a PO from an FBA shipment will not direct
the vendor to ship items to the Amazon Fulfillment center. The Ship To address does not change to the Amazon Fulfillment center on the FBA inbound shipment.
