Integrating Your eBay Account

Integrating eBay

Linking your eBay seller account with Sellercloud is straightforward and requires two key procedures:

  •  Integrating your eBay account
  • Configuring your eBay settings in Sellercloud
You should have an eBay Seller Manager Account, which is a free upgrade from eBay that enables you to view and manage custom labels, among other options. To enable, click My Account > Subscription > Subscribe to eBay Seller Manager.

Third-Party Authorization:

eBay requires third-party authorization before Sellercloud can interact with your account. This means you are letting eBay know you are using Sellercloud to manage your account, and you are granting permission for Sellercloud to access it. This is accomplished by fetching a token.

The token expires after approximately one year and must be renewed by repeating the steps here. Your account must be relinked annually – even if the token date shown has not been reached.

After third-party authorization is set up, you can see it in your eBay account on Account > Site Preferences >Third-party authorizations.

We recommend reviewing your existing third-party authorizations to ensure no conflicts exist with Sellercloud. Customers have had listings end or listed with no history in Sellercloud due to conflicting authorization.

Configuring eBay settings

After the eBay API is retrieved, the related eBay account will display in the username box, together with the selling city and zip code. The selling city and zip code will default in the eBay listings as the place from where the products ship, but there is an option to override those values on specific product on the eBay Properties page. If someone searches eBay for products in their area, eBay will use the selling zip code as the product location.

Once you’ve integrated your eBay account with Sellercloud, you should configure the following settings:

SETTING DESCRIPTION
eBay General Settings You can set settings, like Max. Dispatch Time and eBay Auction Posting Minimum Duration. You can also update your credentials, shipping information, etc.
eBay Sales Tax You can set the tax rate per state for where tax will be collected (not the buyer’s state). This is a separate setting for taxes specific to eBay. By default, it is added to the eBay listing information on all listings, but it can be overridden for a specific product on eBay Properties.

eBay does not have an option for county-specific tax calculations. For example, in New York State, residents of some counties pay a lower tax rate than New York City.

Business Policies eBay Business Policies allow you to create a set of standardized policies for payments, shipping, and returns across multiple listings.
eBay Shipping Price Template eBay has domestic and international shipping options that you can save in Sellercloud as a template to apply to listings. This is where you configure your templates.
Shipping Method Mapping The shipping method mapping tool allows you to easily customize shipping services such as expedited, Standard, or overnight.
eBay Description Template (and Description Master Template) eBay Description Templates let you create reusable listing templates so you don’t have to write a new description each time you want to sell something on eBay. This is where you configure your templates.
eBay Listing Defaults eBay requires certain payment options and the return policy to be included on individual listings. On this page, you can set the default accepted payment methods, return policies, and other listing policy defaults.

  • If you have opted into eBay Business Policies, you should manage your payment and return policy by downloading and assigning policies to products. This will be mandatory for sellers who have opted into the Business Policies feature.
eBay PayPal Settings You will need to configure PayPal API. If PayPal settings are not configured for a company, orders will come in with an Unpaid status.
Max. Dispatch Time Defines how many days you have to ship an order. It is split into two settings for in-stock products and replenishable products. This default setting can be overridden on a product level at eBay Properties.
eBay Auction Posting Minimum Duration Defines a minimum listings duration to insure that eBay auctions won’t be posted as shorter auctions. For example, if you don’t want any 1-Day auctions to be posted you can set the value to 7-Day. This default setting can be overridden on a product level at eBay Properties.
