Unit of Measure

Overview

The Unit of Measure (UoM) setting lets you choose between Imperial (inches, pounds, etc.) and Metric (centimeters, kilograms, etc.) units. The option ensures that all relevant data, including dimensions, weight, and volume, is accurately converted according to the selected measurement system. This allows you to easily accommodate the preferences of different teams and regions while maintaining consistency and accuracy across your account and associated companies.

Change Unit of Measure

You can change the UoM setting at the account and company levels.

Account Level

The Default Unit of Measure Client Setting sets the default UoM for all newly created companies within your Sellercloud account. It is also used to determine the UoM of data that is not company-related, like configuration data which refers to system settings and parameters, including default measurements, system preferences, and templates.

The Default Unit of Measure setting does not affect the UoM for FBA Shipment Boxes and FBA Box Defaults. FBA box dimensions are always imperial.

To change the Default Unit of Measure:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Client Settings > General Client Settings.
  2. Find Default Unit of Measure under the Localization tab.
  3. Select between Imperial or Metric units from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click on the green Save icon.

Company Level

The Unit of Measure Company Setting sets and updates the UoM of metrics related to company data, such as existing products, orders, POs, etc., for the specified company. When displaying metrics, Sellercloud first checks whether they are related to a company, like Product Dimensions. If the metrics are unrelated to a company, the Default Unit of Measure Client Setting will be used.

To update the UoM of existing products, you must update the specific company’s settings for displaying or processing the data.

To change the Unit of Measure:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies.
  2. Select a Company.
  3. On the General Company Settings page, click the Edit icon at the top right corner of the page or the Edit icon of the General panel.
  4. Select between Imperial or Metric units from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the Save checkmark.
