An eBay Auction listing allows buyers to compete for an item by placing bids during a defined period. When the auction ends, the item is typically sold to the highest bidder.
Sellercloud provides several methods for managing eBay auctions, including creating listings for individual products, automating auctions for Product Groups, and controlling when listings are posted through configurable blackout periods.

Manage eBay Auctions
Depending on how you manage your inventory, eBay Auctions can be configured individually or through Product Group-based campaigns. Sellercloud also provides scheduling controls that can be used to restrict when auctions are posted.
Individual Auctions – Create and post a listing for a single product.
Product Group Series – Apply a shared posting schedule to products within the same Product Group.
Product Group Sets – Configure unique schedules and listing settings for individual products.
Blackout Dates – Prevent auctions from being posted during specified dates or times.
Before using Product Group Series, Product Group Sets, or Blackout Dates, ensure these pages are enabled in your menu. Navigate to Customize Menu > Settings > Marketplaces > eBay, select the required pages, and save your changes. (Show me where!)
Individual Auctions
The eBay Listing Manager allows you to create a listing, select the auction format, and optionally schedule it for a future date and time:
Navigate to Catalog > Manage Catalog and select a product.
On the Product Details page, go to Toolbox > eBay Listing Manager.
Click Add New Listing or select an existing listing Title.
On the next page, select Auction and set its Duration.
Optional: Enable Schedule Posting, set a date and time, and click Save Item. Use this option to schedule the auction for a future date and time. The selected date and time are based on the time zone of your database/server’s location. Shared servers are typically configured to use the U.S. Eastern Standard Time zone.
If you're ready to post, click Post on eBay.
Product Group Series
Product Group Series automate auction posting for products within the same Product Group. All products in the campaign share the same schedule and posting rules. Sellercloud posts all products from the Product Group in a random order, beginning at the given start date and according to the configured schedule.
Go to Settings > Marketplaces > eBay > Series.
Click Create New Series.
-
On the next page, select Company and Product Group > Enter the values in the remaining fields > Save.
Listings Per Product – It's recommended to keep this value low, ideally at 1, to avoid competing against your own listing. Read about eBay’s Duplicate Listing policy.
Selling Format – Campaigns work in all three selling formats.
Posting Interval – Defines the time interval between listing products. For example, if you're posting 10 products and select a 5 minutes interval, one product will be posted every 5 minutes.
Listing Duration – Specify how long the listing remains active after it is posted.
Start Date and Time – The date and time of when posting begins.
Enable Blackout Time – The time of day you do not want to sell your item. Sellercloud will not post any auctions during this time.
Recurring – Continually reposts products at the set frequency until the set end date. Items that sell well should have shorter recurrence intervals. Setting the frequency to 52 and selecting weeks will auto-list the product every week for the whole year.
Product Group Sets
Product Group Sets provide more control over individual listings within a campaign. Each product can have its own posting schedule, listing format, and duration. This option allows you to configure unique start dates, times, formats, and durations for individual products, giving you complete control over each listing schedule.
To post via Product Group Sets:
Navigate to Settings > Marketplaces > eBay > Sets.
From the Select action dropdown, select Create new Product Group Set, and click Go.
Select a Company.
Enter the set's Name and Select Product Group.
Click Create New Set.
On the next page, enter a Start Date and an End Date (if applicable).
Check Enable Listings. Select Recurring if you want the campaign to recur.
In the Product Group Items grid, configure the Day of Week, Time of Day, Format, and Duration for each product.
When finished, click Select Actions > Generate > Go.
Configure Blackout Dates
Blackout Dates prevent auctions from being published during specified dates or times. Since an eBay auction typically ends according to its start time and duration, Blackout Dates can be used to avoid listings that would overlap with restricted periods.
To configure Blackout Dates:
Go to Settings > Marketplaces > eBay > Blackout Dates.
-
Define the blackout dates:
To enter the blackout dates manually, select Start Date and End Date > Choose Type > Save Range.
To enter the blackout dates through a file upload, click Choose File > Upload File.
Sellercloud will check the listing to ensure it doesn't conflict with Blackout Dates each time an auction posts.
Important! The Windows service eBayProductListingService must be configured to allow a recurring auction. For assistance open a ticket with Sellercloud Support.
