Overview
Order fulfillment on Walmart Marketplace is configured by defining the shipping origin of the inventory and the logic used to determine its shipping services. Fulfillment Centers establish the physical ship‑from locations, while Shipping Templates and Simplified Shipping Settings provide two alternative mechanisms for controlling the shipping behavior. You can rely entirely on one shipping approach or use a combination of both across your catalog to accommodate different fulfillment scenarios. Sellercloud allows you to import and assign Fulfillment Centers, and manage their shipping logic.
Currently, there are some differences in the APIs for Walmart Marketplace US and Canada:
For the US Marketplace, you can Download predefined shipping templates into Sellercloud and map them from Sellercloud into Walmart Marketplace via their API.
For Canada, the API only allows downloading existing shipping templates into Sellercloud and setting them on your SKUs. You are not able to map Shipping Templates to listings from Sellercloud.
Manage Walmart Marketplace Fulfillment
Walmart Marketplace uses Fulfillment Centers, Shipping Templates, and Simplified Shipping Settings to determine how orders are fulfilled, which carriers and services are used, and how delivery‑promise dates are calculated.
Fulfillment Centers
Fulfillment Centers (also referred to as Ship Nodes) represent the physical locations and storage facilities where inventory is sourced from to fulfill Walmart Marketplace orders. To use Fulfillment Centers in Sellercloud, the Enable Walmart Marketplace defined shipping templates setting must be turned on in your company’s Walmart Marketplace > General Settings.
Sellercloud allows you to import Fulfillment Centers configured in Walmart's Seller Center and map them to your Sellercloud warehouses. Once mapped, you can assign inventory to a single Default Fulfillment Center or distribute it across Multiple WFS facilities. The single fulfillment center approach allows you to centralize your WFS stock, while the multi-warehouse workflow allows you to disperse inventory across multiple geographic zones.
App setting EnableWalmartMarketplaceMultiWarehouseInventory must be set to True to send inventory updates to Multiple Fulfillment Centers. Open a ticket with Sellercloud Support to ensure that this setting is enabled on your server.
Fulfillment Centers can also be used independently of Shipping templates to control how inventory is sent to Walmart. For example, you can map only specific warehouses to Fulfillment Centers to exclude others from the inventory feed.
Download Fulfillment Centers
When your Walmart Fulfillment Centers and their locations are configured, you can download and map them to existing Sellercloud warehouses. This mapping determines which warehouse’s available inventory is sent to each location.
To download Walmart Fulfillment Centers into Sellercloud:
Navigate to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies and select a company.
From the Toolbox, choose Walmart Marketplace > Fulfillment Centers.
Click the Download icon.
When you import your fulfillment centers into Sellercloud, you can map them to existing warehouses – simply select a warehouse from the dropdown menu and save your preference.
Default Fulfillment Center
You can set a company-specific fulfillment center as the Default one for your Walmart Marketplace channel:
Navigate to your Settings > Companies > Manage Companies and select a company.
From the Toolbox, choose Walmart Marketplace > General Settings.
Click Edit.
Choose a Default Fulfillment Center from the dropdown menu in the Options panel.
Click Save.
Shipping Templates
Walmart Marketplace Shipping Templates implement a fixed shipping execution model. A template explicitly defines the shipping carrier and service level to be used when fulfilling an order. Walmart Marketplace allows you to customize up to 60 shipping templates, which you can assign to your products. This way, you can prepare and use multiple shipping options for your listings.
When you configure your shipping templates and fulfillment centers on Walmart Marketplace, you can enable their use in Sellercloud:
Navigate to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies and select a company.
From the Toolbox, choose Walmart Marketplace > General Settings.
Click Edit.
In the Options panel, check the Enable Walmart Marketplace Defined Shipping Templates box. When done, the option to choose a standard Sellercloud’s Default Shipping Template for your Walmart Marketplace listings is automatically hidden.
Click Save.
If you want to utilize a standard Sellercloud shipping template for your Walmart Marketplace products, disable the Enable Walmart Marketplace Defined Shipping Templates box, choose a Default Shipping Template from the respective dropdown and Save the change.
Download Shipping Templates
When you create your shipping templates on Walmart Marketplace, it’s time to download them into Sellercloud:
Navigate to Settings > Companies > Manage Companies and select a company.
From the Toolbox, choose Walmart Marketplace > Shipping Templates.
Click the Download icon.
Default Shipping Template
The Walmart Marketplace Default Shipping Template applies to all your Walmart Marketplace listings unless a SKU is mapped to a custom template. Walmart Marketplace permits only 1 default template per seller account. You can set a company-specific shipping template as a Default one for your Walmart Marketplace channel:
Navigate to your Settings > Companies > Manage Companies and select a company.
From the Toolbox, choose Walmart Marketplace > General Settings.
Click Edit.
Choose a Default Shipping Template (Walmart Defined) from the dropdown menu in the Options panel.
Click Save.
Walmart Marketplace 2-Day Shipping Template
If you are part of Walmart’s Free 2-Day Shipping Program, Sellercloud allows you to assign Two-Day shipping templates to your products, as long as they already exist in your Walmart Marketplace account:
Navigate to Companies > Manage Companies and select a company.
From the Toolbox, choose Walmart Marketplace > Two Day Shipping Templates.
Click the + icon in the Two Day Shipping Templates panel.
Simplified Shipping Settings
Walmart Marketplace Simplified Shipping Settings provide a dynamic alternative to Shipping Templates. You can define simplified rules and priorities, and Walmart will determine the optimal shipping service and generate delivery‑promise dates using real‑time carrier data. When you configure and apply these settings to your orders, Walmart automatically calculates transit times based on the carrier service, the fulfillment center from which the order ships, and the customer’s delivery address. Sellercloud allows you to create and configure Simplified Shipping Settings from within your account and upload them back to Walmart.
Simplified Shipping Settings can utilize domestic USPS, UPS, and FedEx services, but are not compatible with Ship to Store items, virtual packs, international or freight shipping, or third-party logistics services such as Flexport.
You can find more information on configuring your Walmart Marketplace Simplified Shipping Settings here.
