Overview
Walmart Customer Favorites are products that Walmart has identified as high-potential selling opportunities based on customer demand and market trends. To help you discover these products, Sellercloud imports Walmart's Assortment Growth Report and automatically matches the recommended items to products in your catalog. Matching products are marked as Walmart Customer Favorites, allowing you to focus on items with proven marketplace demand.
Walmart Customer Favorite products are only available for US Walmart accounts.
Prerequisites
To use Walmart Customer Favorites, ensure that:
You have an active US Walmart Marketplace Account Integration. The Assortment Growth Report is not available for Walmart Canada or Mexico accounts.
The Enable Assortment Recommendations Report setting is activated in your company's Walmart Marketplace settings. Once the setting is enabled for one Walmart Marketplace company, Customer Favorite indicators and filters become available across the entire client account.
Customer Favorites Data
Sellercloud keeps Customer Favorite data up to date by regularly importing Walmart's Assortment Growth Report. A new report is imported when the most recent one is 7 or more days old. If a company does not yet have any report data, Sellercloud requests a report during the next nightly sync. Each successful import replaces the previous report. If Walmart returns an empty report or the download fails, Sellercloud keeps the existing data and retries during subsequent nightly syncs.
Customer Favorite data cannot be refreshed manually. To see when a company's data was last updated, check the Report Date column in the Assortment Growth Report report.
Product Matching Principles
Sellercloud identifies Customer Favorites by comparing products in your catalog with items in Walmart's Assortment Growth Report. A product is marked as a Walmart Customer Favorite when Sellercloud finds a valid match using one of the following identifiers:
ASIN
UPC
EAN
GTIN
The following matching rules apply:
Matches must be exact. Spaces and hyphens are ignored, but partial matching is not supported.
Product names, brands, categories, and prices are not used when determining matches.
Products can be identified as Customer Favorites whether or not they are enabled for Walmart Marketplace.
Matching is performed across your entire client account, not within a single company. A product may be identified as a Customer Favorite based on recommendation data imported for another company in the same account.
If one recommendation matches multiple products, all are marked as Customer Favorites.
If a recommendation's identifiers point to different products, Sellercloud does not mark any of them as Customer Favorites. For example, if the UPC matches one product and the ASIN matches another, neither product is flagged.
Customer Favorite status reflects the most recent successfully imported report. When a product no longer appears in Walmart's latest recommendation data, Sellercloud removes its Customer Favorite designation.
Recommendations that do not match any products in your catalog remain visible in the Walmart's Assortment Growth Report.
Manage Customer Favorites
Once Sellercloud identifies a product as a Walmart Customer Favorite, you can review and prepare it for Walmart Marketplace. For guidance on Walmart product configuration and listing readiness, see Walmart Marketplace Product Properties and Walmart Marketplace Listings Management.
Find Customer Favorites
The Manage Catalog page is the primary workspace for reviewing Customer Favorites across your catalog. To focus only on products recommended by Walmart, use the Walmart Customer Favorite custom filter.
The filter works together with all other search criteria, and can be combined to create a Saved View, which serves as a dedicated work queue of products recommended by Walmart. Because Customer Favorite designations are refreshed automatically when new recommendation data is imported, your Saved View always reflects Walmart's latest recommendations that match products in your catalog.
Customer Favorites Notifications
When Customer Favorites are available in your account, Sellercloud sends an in-app Notification with the title Your Walmart Customer Favorites are ready. Client Admin users receive the notification, as well as employees who have the Catalog Edit permission and access to a company with Customer Favorites. Click the notification to open the Manage Catalog page in a new tab, filtered to active products that are Walmart Customer Favorites.
Customer Favorites Indicators
Sellercloud displays Customer Favorite Indicators both on the Manage Catalog page, and on the Product Details page. The indicator depends on the product's current Walmart Marketplace status.
Catalog Indicators
The Manage Catalog Customer Favorite indicators appear in the Channels column and provide additional information about the product's Walmart Marketplace status:
Product enabled and listed on Walmart Marketplace - A gold star appears on the upper-left corner of the Walmart Marketplace icon. The icon also displays a View Listing indicator (eye icon), which means the product has an active Walmart listing. Hover over the Walmart Marketplace icon to find and select the possible actions - Edit in Sellercloud and View on Walmart Marketplace.
Product enabled for Walmart Marketplace, but not listed - A gold star appears on the upper-left corner of the Walmart Marketplace icon. Select the Walmart Marketplace icon to open the product's Walmart Marketplace Properties.
Product not enabled for Walmart Marketplace - A standalone gold star appears in place of the Walmart Marketplace icon. The star is informational only and cannot be selected.
Product Details Indicators
The Product Details Customer Favorite indicators appear in the page header and reflect the product's Walmart Marketplace status:
Product enabled for Walmart Marketplace - A Walmart Marketplace icon with a gold star appears in the page header. The indicator provides direct access to the product's Walmart Marketplace Properties.
Company enabled for Walmart Marketplace, product not enabled - A Walmart Customer Favorite label appears in the page header if the product belongs to a Walmart-enabled company. The indicator provides direct access to the product's Walmart Marketplace Properties, where you can prepare and enable the product.
Company not enabled for Walmart Marketplace - If the product belongs to a company that is not enabled for Walmart Marketplace, the label is displayed but cannot be selected. In such cases, you can create a Shadow Product in a Walmart-enabled company or use an existing shadow product before the item can be listed on Walmart Marketplace.
